Video shows man using stolen debit card hours after robbery

Jackie Arnold's purse stolen outside Hollywood Animal Hospital on February 24

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police released surveillance video Tuesday showing a man using a woman's stolen debit card at a gas station in Miami a few hours after she was robbed of her purse.

Two men stole Jackie Arnold's purse outside Hollywood Animal Hospital on February 24. When she tried to stop the car, the driver hit the gas and knocked Arnold to the ground, where she hit her head on the pavement.

"He looks thinner than the guy I saw get back into the car," Arnold said about the man in the surveillance video. "They did it to me and they could do it to anybody and they probably have."

Another angle of the surveillance video taken from the BP gas station at 1190 NW 54th Street showed a black car leaving, but detectives were unable to make out the tag, make, and model of the car.

But Arnold said she's sure it was the same vehicle that knocked her to the ground.

"It's kind of discouraging," she said.

Arnold's fractured nose and black eyes have since healed. Her chipped teeth were also fixed.

She said the experience has made her more street smart.

"First thing I did was roll up my windows and lock my car," said Arnold.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Hollywood police at 954-967-4357.
