MIAMI -

Ice cream can be a delicious treat. Buffalo chicken wings are savory snacks for many.

But the thought of chicken wing-flavored ice cream strikes fear and skepticism in the hearts of even the most adventurous eater.

According to Griff Gillette of Polar Bear Ice Cream, that’s why the best time to try it is at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition.

“It’s chicken, ranch dressing, and hot sauce ice cream,” Gillette said of the concoction he calls “It’s a Chicken Wing Thing.”

Yes, there are chunks of chicken in it, too.

The double-decker ice cream stand at the fair serves other outrageous treats as well. All ingredients are fresh and the ice cream is homemade.

“A Pig in the Mud” is chocolate or vanilla ice cream with real hickory smoked bacon, salted caramel, and sea salt.

“Hog on a Log” is a frozen banana dipped in chocolate and rolled in bacon.

Polar Bear Ice Cream is one of the more than 170 food stands at the fair. Adventurous eaters can try the tasty creations at the fair until it ends on March 31st.
