A man wanted by Hialeah police for shooting at their officers during a police pursuit was caught in Safety Harbor, near Tampa Bay, on Wednesday.

Pinellas and Hillsboro County Sheriff's deputies found Andy Roman riding with a woman in the town. He didn't resist during the arrest.

Roman faces five counts of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer.

According to investigators, on Saturday at the Crossway Motel on W. Okee Road, Roman shot at officers who were investigating an earlier shooting.

Police then chased Roman and Osmano Ojeda to the area of Northwest 6th Avenue and 45th Street. Along the way, detectives said the suspects continued to shoot at the pursuing police vehicles with an AK-47 type assault rifle and a submachine gun, both of which were recovered by police. No officers were injured.

Ojeda, 22, was later caught. He faces several charges, including attempted murder of a police officer, and was being held on no bond.
