Hialeah police officers tried to arrest a Baker Act suspect when he ran into his apartment and began throwing furniture from his balcony.

It happened in the 5800 block of West 26th Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

Hialeah police called in a negotiator and SWAT to assist in getting the man to come out of his apartment.

The man eventually came out and was being taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.
