Woman accused of performing root canal without lincense

A 40-year-old woman is accused of performing a root canal on another women and prescribing her antibiotics despite the fact that she's not a licensed dentist.

Luz Angela Jimenez-Mojica is charged with one count of unlicensed practice.

Jimenez-Mojica works at a practice in Hialeah Gardens, said police. The victim told police Jimenez-Mojica performed a root canal that left her in severe pain.

When the victim returned to the dental office, the dentist there told her that Jimenez-Mojica did the procedure incorrectly and that she worked as an assistant in the office, said police.

The victim told police Jimenez-Mojica prescribed her prescriptions without the dentist present.
