Woman prays during DUI test
Deputies say woman kept talking about her breasts
Maureen Raymond
Some local sheriff's deputies will never forget a recent arrest they made.
Martin County sheriff's deputies pulled over Maureen Raymond, 49, on Federal Highway in Jensen Beach on Sunday night.
Deputies said they stopped Raymond after watching her cross the double yellow line twice in her gold Toyota Camry. They said she been going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.
After pulling over Raymond, deputies said she tried to exit her car three times, although they had ordered her to stay put. The deputies said they smelled an alcoholic odor coming from the Camry and that Raymond's eyes were red and glassy. The deputies said they even found what appeared to be alcohol in a glass in the car.
Raymond was then ordered to get out of the car to perform some roadside tests and Raymond reportedly replied, "that she is big chested and that if I ask her to close her eyes and balance she is not going to balance well."
The deputies then asked if Raymond was injured and Raymond replied she "had big breast."
Raymond then reportedly failed her roadside tests and was taken to the Martin County Jail.
At jail, the deputy attempted to give Raymond a breath test, but she said she needed to pray. When pressed that she needed to take the test, Raymond reportedly replied, "that the deputy needed to relax because she is praying and God is first." She never provided a valid test.
Raymond was charged with driving under the influence. Her bond was set at $750.
