Abandoned Pet Rescue to hold golf tournament

Proceeds benefit care, treatment of rescued animals

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – The Abandoned Pet Rescue is holding its inaugural golf tournament this month to raise money for the care and treatment of the animals it rescues.

"We are excited to launch this wonderful tournament with an amazing group of volunteers," said APR board member Jeanne Dawson Lalli. "There's nothing more enjoyable than watching people bask in the South Florida outdoors knowing that they are helping the animals at the same time."

The tournament will take place at 8 a.m. June 20 at the Inverrary Golf and Country Club in Lauderhill, and is open to golfers of all skill levels.

Participation is $100 per person, which includes lunch, beer and swag bags. Those who bring a bag or cans of dog and cat food will be eligible for a chance at a door prize.

Lunch will be available for purchase for family or friends who attend and don't play in the tournament.
