FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - This weekend, Saturday, September 15, and Sunday September 16, the Dog Eat Dog Food Truck will be at Broward County Animal Care serving up delicious hot dog specialties to all residents who adopt a dog or cat during "Hot Diggity Dog" weekend. Also, DJ Scott Evans will roll out the best in music and fun during that time.
The Dog Eat Dog Food Truck will be at the Fort Lauderdale shelter, 1870 S.W. 39 Street, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., both Saturday and Sunday. In addition to a free hot dog, special adoption fees will be offered and new pet owners will also receive savings coupons from Pet Supermarket for supplies and food.
"We are mid-way through the ASPCA $100K Challenge and want to keep the momentum going to save more pets than ever before" says Public Education Coordinator Lisa Mendheim. "We have wonderful dogs and cats waiting for a happy home."
Broward Animal Care and Adoption is participating in the ASPCA $100K Challenge, a national adoption event running from August 1 through October 31, with a goal to find homes for 1,636 during the three months. So far, 527 dogs and cats have found a home since the Challenge began. The shelter that saves the most lives during the Challenge has the chance to win the top prize of $100,000!
Broward County's Animal Care and Adoption is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of homeless pets. The agency also coordinates the registration of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations to encourage a healthier pet population.
