CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – An alert resident helped nab two suspected car burglars in Coral Springs.
According to police, a man called the Coral Springs police non-emergency number early Monday after he saw two men lifting door handles of vehicles parked inside the Sable Point Apartment complex.

Police said the man provided a clear description of the suspects and watched them until officers arrived.
Police said Officer Michael Kenny made contact with the caller, who motioned to him that the men were inside a white van that was parked nearby.
Police said William Fontez was seen getting out of the driver's-side while Alexander Montalvo was seen rummaging through the glove compartment.
Police said another car was also burglarized.
The items stolen from the vehicles included coins, sunglasses, a Garmin GPS, a phone charger, an iPod and a camera.
Police said Fontez also had a hole-punch, a tool commonly used by burglars to smash glass.
Fontez was arrested on charges of burglary, petit theft and possession of burglary tools. Montalvo was arrested on charges of burglary and petit theft.
According to police, vehicle burglaries make up 43 percent of all crime in Coral Springs, and the majority of the burglaries are to unlocked vehicles.
Police remind residents to lock their car doors and remove valuable items.
