PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – The all-clear has been given for students at a Broward County middle school after the principal reported a "suspicious communication" early Thursday morning.
Pembroke Pines police said a teacher at Silver Trail Middle School received an email Wednesday night from an unknown source that included the words "blowing up the school." The teacher received the same email earlier in the year.

Parents and staff members received a message from the school's principal shortly before 7 a.m., reading in part:
"Overnight our school received a suspicious communication indicating a potential threat to our school. We immediately contacted our District school police and local law enforcement who are now conducting a thorough search of our campus. We take the safety and security of our students very seriously. We expect the situation to be resolved prior to our school start time. While the search is underway, no one is allowed to enter the school campus. As soon as we have more information we will let you know."
Police searched the school but did not find anything suspicious. The all-clear was given about 7:45 a.m.
However, as a precaution, students were asked not to bring backpacks to school Thursday.
