MIAMI -

Male alligators go looking for love about this time each year, and with females hard to find, these frisky fellas end up in all the wrong places.

A driver found an 8 to 10-foot alligator outside Palm Beach International Airport early Thursday morning. When he stopped to check it out, the gator bit down on his Mercedes Benz's bumper and ripped it off.

A trapper was called out to remove the wayward gator.

"I personally take the alligator to an alligator farm," said Darlene Tyson. "I try to live capture all my alligators and take them out to the farm. I try real hard to do a 'no kill.' Sometimes it's not possible, but I try very hard."

The driver wasn't injured.

On Sunday morning, a homeowner in Parkland woke up and found an 8-foot alligator outside his front door.

"It's big, huge, hissing all morning," Alfonso Castaneda told Local 10's Ben Kennedy.

Paul Bedard with Gator Boys trapped the animal.

"That thing is lightening fast," he said.

If you find a wayward alligator, call police or animal services.
