FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

A double arm amputee has his custom-made bicycle stolen that he planned to ride to raise money for a child born without hands and forearms.

Hector Picard's bicycle was stolen early Thursday at 5210 NE 17th Avenue, according to Fort Lauderdale police.

Picard called police after noticing one of the doors of his vehicle was ajar and his bicycle was missing.

On June 8, Picard will go on a 3,200 mile ride from Miami to Jameson Davis' hometown of Spokane, Wash. His journey is expected to take 36 days to complete.
