BOCA RATON, Fla. – A Boca Raton man was arrested after he left his 4-year-old son alone in a hot car while buying vodka, police said.
Antonio Macaluso, 47, was arrested Sunday on a charge of child neglect.

Boa Raton police said Macaluso left the boy alone for 13 minutes while he shopped for vodka at a Total Wine store.
According to the police report, a couple called 911 after seeing the child alone in the back seat of a 2010 Mini Cooper.
The window was slightly cracked and the engine was turned off, but the temperature at the time was 95 degrees, the report said.
Macaluso came outside when he saw the police and told officers that he "made a big mistake" by leaving the boy in the car, the report said.
Police notified the Department of Children and Families, which was determining where to place the boy at the time of the report.
