Man shot during confrontation about stolen PlayStation 2

Victim in stable condition at Kendall Regional Medical Center

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was wounded in a southwest Miami-Dade County shooting Tuesday morning after an argument about a stolen video game console.

Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said the shooting occurred at 28108 SW 140th Court about 7:15 a.m.

Witnesses told police they overheard an argument between two men shortly before hearing gunshots.

The daughter of the victim identified him as Orlando Cuperes, 55. She said her father confronted a group of men who stole from her son.

"They stole my son's PlayStation 2 and my dad came over here to ask for the PlayStation and stuff, and they started shooting at him," Sugeily Cuperes told Local 10 News.

He was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

Police are searching for the shooter.
