Armed robber snatches bracelet from man in Miami

Robbery happened as 2 men talked outside business

MIAMI – Police are searching for a robber who stole a man's bracelet in Miami this week.

Miami police said the incident happened about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday while two men were chatting with each other in front of a business on Northwest 21st Terrace and 14th Avenue.

According to detectives, the robber pulled a gun on the victims and demanded their belongings.

Police said one of the victims stood still because he had nothing of value on him. They said the other victim, identified as Jose Martinez, ran away, but the robber jumped on top of him after he tripped.

Police said the robber wrestled Martinez's bracelet off of his wrist before running away.

Martinez told police that he was on his break when he was approached by the gunman.

Martinez suffered minor injuries to his right wrist and left knee.

The robber is described as a clean-shaven thin black man who is between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black shorts and black shoes.

Anyone with information about the identity of the robber is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
