Armed thief steals expensive watch from Mobil gas station clerk

Watch valued at several thousand dollars

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who rushed into a gas station in Pembroke Park and snatched an expensive watch from an employee.

The robbery was captured on surveillance video July 15 at a Mobil gas station at 3151 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd.

Deputies said the victim, Jose Medina, 58, was cleaning tables about 12:30 a.m. when a man rushed into the store, brandished a silver handgun and said, "Take off the watch."

The robber then ran out of the store as Medina finished wiping the table before calling 911.

The man is described as being heavyset, possibly in his 20s. He wore a dark hooded sweater, long dark shorts and black gloves.

The timepiece stolen is valued at several thousands of dollars.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Detective T. Woulard at 954-321-455. Tips can be made anonymously by calling Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.

A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
