1 dead, 2 others wounded in Overtown shooting

Victims taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital

MIAMI – One person is dead and two others were wounded after a shooting Friday morning in Miami's Overtown neighborhood, police confirmed.

The shootings were reported at a convenience store and an apartment building in the area of Northwest First Place and 11th Terrace.

Sky 10 was above the scene about 11:30 a.m. as the area was roped off with police tape.

A woman was seen being handcuffed by police, but officers said it was unrelated to the shooting. 

Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said the victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where one man was pronounced dead from his injuries.

It's unclear whether the gunman is in custody.

No other details were immediately released.
