MIAMI -

AT&T announced its hiring for 165 positions in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

The company, along with Florida Gov. Rick Scott, made the announcement Wednesday at its new store in The Falls.

"They've already added 2,400 jobs this year," said Scott, who awarded the company with a business ambassador medal. "We've gone from losing 832,000 jobs in the fours years before I became governor to, in the last two years and eight months, we added -- you, the private sector, and AT&T's a big part of that -- added 365,000 jobs."

Available positions are in customer care, retail, consumer sales, and network organizations. There's 600 positions available statewide.

"Providing a superior customer experience is our top priority," said Carlos Blanco-Sposito, vice president and general manager for AT&T's South Florida market. "Investing in our work force will not only benefit customers but also the local economy."
