HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard was searching for a man who disappeared Monday off the coast of Hallandale Beach.
A Hallandale Beach lifeguard told the Coast Guard he saw a man with no lifejacket paddle into the ocean with an inflatable raft, which he later spotted adrift.

The Coast Guard began a search for the man by air and water that spanned about two miles of shoreline.
A Broward Sheriff's Office helicopter assisted in the search.
The man remained missing late Monday afternoon.
