Baby in critical condition after found floating in pool

Officials believe baby may have been in water 15 minutes

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – According to Lauderhill police, officials responded to a call on Monday that an 18-month-old baby boy was found floating in a pool, unresponsive.

When officials arrived, the baby's grandfather, Oscarine Isaacs, was administering CPR.

Officials said the baby's grandfather, grandmother, Oscarine Isaacs, cousin, Naressa Fredricks and aunt, Christina Isaacs, were at the home with three kids, including the baby, when the incident happened.

According to a report, the three kids were playing when the baby somehow managed to open a rear sliding glass door that led outside to the pool deck. The boy was found by his half sister after falling into the pool. She pulled him out and assisted the grandfather with CPR. At that time, the cousin called the police.

The grandfather attempted CPR until the cops and fire rescue arrived and continued.

The baby is currently at Plantation General Hospital and is reported to have a pulse, but is in critical condition.

It is unclear how long baby was in the pool.

As of now, police are considering this an accident. It is unlikely that criminal charges will be filed.
