On Monday, August 19, 2013, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will open its doors to an estimated 333,000 students, transport more than 60,000 students via the District’s bus fleet, and serve 285,000 meals.

New and returning students will have the opportunity to experience a variety of new educational programs and benefits during the 2013-2014 school year.

To assist parents in preparing for the first day of school, the District has posted the Back-to-School Tool Kit online. The tool kit has pertinent information on subjects ranging from choice schools, dual enrollment, graduation requirements, parent involvement and school safety.

Students can benefit from information found in the tool kit, and parents may also use it to find out about important dates and policies regarding their child’s education.

For more information, click here for the online toolkit or call the district’s opening-of-schools hotline at 305-995-3000 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
