NEW YORK – A proposed New York City skyscraper may not be the tallest in the world, but it would be the longest.
The design studio Oiio released images and plans for "The Big Bend," a massive building that would curve at the top and total 4,000 feet from one end to the other.
The Daily Mail reports the curved U-shaped building is a necessity to work with New York's zoning laws in Manhattan's Billionaire's Row.
In fact, the skyscraper would straddle a building that currently sits on 57th Street.
The building design is so innovative, an elevator that can curve and go horizontal would have to be invented to service all the floors.
If stretched from end-to-end, "The Big Bend" would tower 1,250 feet over the Burj Khalifa, the current tallest building in the world, and more than 2,000 feet over One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the U.S.
