Boat stolen from homeowner's driveway

Caught on camera: boat heist in Surfside

SURFSIDE, Fla. – A large boat was stolen from a residential driveway in Surfside just before noon on Wednesday.

Home surveillance video captures two men in a white pick-up truck pulling up to the home at Byron Avenue and 91st Street.

They remove the latches connecting to the boat's trailer and take off with the boat attached to their own truck.

"I think we have enough evidence to see who the person is who did it, i hope someone out there knows these kind of human beings," said the boat's owner, Ada Fraga.

The entire robbery took about a minute. It was the owner's son who came home to find the driveway vacant and called for help.

"i don't know why you would do something like that...why would you come and steal something you didn't work for," said Alex Perez.

The 24-foot, $56,000 is insured.

The license plate from the white truck was covered.

Anyone with information is asked to call Surfside police at 305-861-4862.
