Boston Market, La Granja among 11 restaurants ordered shut last week

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Some big names are on the Dirty Dining list this week. According to state records, fluids from raw chicken were dripping on collard greens at Esther's Restaurant on Northwest 103rd Street.

Boston Market in Pompano Beach was also ordered shut after live and dead roaches were found in the dishwashing area.

And at Moon Thai in Weston, roaches were crawling on the walls near the dishwasher.

Eleven restaurants were ordered shut last week by inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. All of the places were allowed to re-open following ordered clean up and re inspections.

Below is a list and some of their violations.

"Stop Sale issued on potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food due to temperature abuse. 45 lbs , collard greens 55°F , 53°F 51°F."

"Build-up of mold-like substance on nonfood-contact surface. Inside door frame of stand up reach in cooler in the kitchen."

"Food contaminated by employees/consumers and operator continued to serve food. See stop sale. 40 lbs. raw collard greens, contaminated by raw meat blood drip, poultry."

An initial report by the state noted that Boston Market was in violation for failing to notify the state that a certified food manager was diagnosed with salmonella, E-coli, Shigella, hepatitis A or norovirus. However, the state mistakenly entered this information after Local 10 News contacted the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and the information was corrected.
