Police on Sunday arrested a 15-year-old accused of robbing and shooting a man at a bus stop.
The robbery happened Sunday at 5815 NW 12th Avenue.
The 15-year-old asked the victim what time it was, police said. When the victim answered, the 15-year-old pulled out a handgun and began pistol whipping him.
"Give me your money and empty your pockets," the 15-year-old told the victim, according to the arrest affidavit.
The victim dropped $50 on the ground, police said. The 15-year-old picked it up and began walking away, then stopped, shot the victim twice, and ran off.
Officers saw the 15-year-old throw something behind a house before they arrested him. They later found a stolen handgun there.
Police charged the 15-year-old with armed robbery with a firearm, attempted murder, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, grand theft, resisting arrest without violence, and discharging a firearm in public.
The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
