Boy hit by dirt bike identified

D'Qwell Boston remains in critical condition at hospital

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 6-year-old boy remains in critical condition Sunday after police say he was struck by a dirt bike Friday evening.

Diane Lewis, the mother of 6-year-old D'Qwell Boston, said her son will undergo a procedure Sunday morning to repair damage to his leg sustained in the accident.

Lewis said that D'Qwell has as a fractured skull and remains in critical condition.

Lewis told Local 10's Ben Kennedy that just after 6:30 p.m. Friday, she ran outside to find her son lying on the ground near Northwest 16th Street.

Her family was at Broward General Hospital not losing hope that D'Qwell will get better.

The driver of that dirt bike sustained non life-threatening injuries and might face charges pending the results of the investigation.
