The investigation began when a Boynton Beach officer was dispatched to Palms West Hospital last week because doctors reported the boy had multiple sores in his mouth and weighed less than 25 pounds.

Gillis had brought him to the hospital and told doctors the boy was not feeling well.

According to the arrest affidavit, Gillis said the boy "doesn't like solid food so has only eaten apple sauce and milk since birth, never solid food because he doesn't like it."

Gillis also told police she was "trying homeopathic medicine from a (doctor) she met playing role-play/board games in (West Palm Beach)."

She also told police she had not brushed her son's teeth in a month because he doesn't like toothbrushes.

When advised that he son was going to be admitted into the hospital overnight, she said she needed to make arrangements because "her and her boyfriend (the child's father) could go assist back stage in (West Palm Beach) tonight for the Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Gillis also told police she smokes pot every day but never near her child.

Both suspects were being held on $3,000 bond.
