Broward County Public Schools host recruitment fair

Part-time, full-time school bus drivers wanted

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – According to the Broward School District, the Broward County Public Schools Transportation Department will host a recruitment fair for school bus drivers.

The fair will be held on Tuesday, July 30, Thursday, Aug. 1, and Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day at the Westfield Broward Mall at 800 Broward Blvd. in Plantation.

The district is looking for qualified licensed drivers who have an excellent driving record, effective communication skills and enjoy working with students.

The district provides free bus driver training for qualified applicants. In addition to a competitive salary, benefits include medical, dental, vision and paid time off.

Those interested in becoming a bus operator must:

  • Have 5 years licensed driving experience
  • Have a valid drivers license with: a) Preferred (CDL) Class A or B with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, or b) Class E Florida driver's license and driving permit for CDL Class A or B with Passenger and School bus Endorsements
  • Complete and pass drug and alcohol test, physical exam, security background check and bus driver training course
  • Bring completed application, Florida Department of Motor Vehicles Report, driver's license, social security card and resume
