The department notified facilities she may have visited, people who may have been exposed, and health care providers in the county.

Symptoms of measles include:

  • Blotchy rash
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Runny nose
  • Red, watery eyes (conjunctivitis)
  • Feeling run down, achy (malaise)
  • Tiny white spots with bluish-white centers found inside the mouth (Koplik's spots)

Measles is very rare where vaccination coverage is high, like within the U.S., according to the department.
