MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Forestry officials are battling a brush fire burning perilously close to several homes.
Friday afternoon's fire consumed about 20 acres near Southwest 120th Avenue and 232nd Street.

Firefighters were working to keep the flames from spreading to the nearby homes and chicken coops.
Crews have been using water trucks and forestry tractors to battle the blaze. Officials said they are monitoring hotspots and believe they have been able to contain the fire.
Meanwhile, crews are also working a second brush fire just north of that one. Choppers have been dumping water on the burning brush just off 177th Avenue and Southwest Eighth Street.
No injuries were reported or property damaged.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
