BSO investigates death of 2-year-old girl

Deputies called to emergency at home on Northwest 17th Street

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl.

BSO deputies received an emergency call at 2:43 a.m. Thursday about an unconscious and unresponsive child at 1107 NW 17th Street.

The girl was taken to Plantation General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Family members told BSO deputies that the girl, identified as Za'mya Williams, was asleep in her bed when she was found unconscious.

The body was taken to the Broward County medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death.
