BSO: Man exposed himself to 14-year-old girl

Reginald Johnson charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office arrested a 41-year-old man accused of exposing himself to a 14-year-old girl while she waited for a school bus in Pompano Beach.

Police on Sunday charged Reginald Johnson with lewd and lascivious exhibition in the April 23 incident, which happened about a half block from his apartment.

"I think anyone could say that it's reasonable that children waiting for a school bus deserve to be left alone and not accosted by grown men," said Broward Circuit Court Judge John Hurley.

Johnson was released from prison in 2010 after serving 19 years. He has prior convictions of robbery with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, armed burglary, aggravated burglary, possession of cocaine, grand theft, and petit theft.

Hurley ordered Johnson held on $50,000 bond.

"The court also believes he (Johnson) represents a danger to the children in that community," said Hurley. "I'm concerned these children are out there. They're vulnerable. They're out there without their parents waiting for a bus."

Investigators believe there may be other victims in the case. Children who live in the neighborhood said they often see him outside before the bus picks them up.

"That's wrong cause I don't want nobody to do my kids like that," said Verline Brady.
