BSO searches for beer run bandits

Surveillance video shows thieves stumble as they leave with several 12-packs of beer

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. ā€“ The Broward Sheriff's Office is looking for a pair of thirsty thieves that made off with five 12-packs of beer from an Oakland Park gas station convenience store.

The robbery happened Monday afternoon at a Sunshine Chevron at 3099 W. Oakland Park Blvd.

Surveillance video shows two men entering the store and taking beer from the cooler. But once the first man reached the door, he realized he couldn't open it with his hands full. He tried kicking the door in, but that didn't work.

The thief eventually puts the beer down and kicks the door open long enough for his accomplice to run out. The men continued to fall and stumble as they ran out of the store, dropping their beer and eventually leaving one of the 12-packs behind.

Detectives said the men left in a green 1996 Honda with a Florida tag that read U39 4 SC.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
