Woman seriously injured in Pompano Beach hit-and-run

Victim listed in critical condition at Broward Health North

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning after a hit-and-run crash in Pompano Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The hit-and-run happened in the 1500 block of Blount Road.

BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said a woman in her 50s was walking southbound on Blount Road when she was struck from behind.

She was taken to Broward Health North, where she is listed in critical condition.

A witness told deputies that the vehicle that struck her was a white Ford pickup with a camper cover over the bed of the truck. The truck is believed to have front damage to the passenger side and the hood.

Conception said detectives were able to track down the Ford F-150. She said a 65-year-old man who owns the truck is a person of interest in the investigation.
