No injuries reported at Miami insurance building

MIAMI – An electrical line fell on the rooftop of a Miami building Thursday, sparking a fire, Miami Department of Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said.

Employees at Estrella Insurance told firefighters they heard a loud explosion just before 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of Northwest 36th Street.

Moments later, a second explosion was heard in the building, Carroll said, and a fire started in the rear of the building.

Two employees exited the building as the fire spread.

No injured were reported, and the fire is considered accidental in nature, Carroll said.

Florida Power & Light is investigating what caused the electrical wire to break.
