Bulls' Taj Gibson fined for verbal abuse

Forward fined $25,000 by NBA

Taj Gibson's wallet is feeling a little lighter today.

The Bulls forward was fined $25,000 for verbal abuse of a referee during Wednesday's game in Miami.

Gibson apologized to fans on twitter, "I want to apologize to the Bulls and NBA for my actions.Ā  Got to keep my passion focused on my team.Ā  Get hyped for tonight."

Following the ejection of teammate Joakim Noah during the fourth quarter of Game 2, Gibson vocalized his anger to game officials and was also ejected.

Both Noah and Gibson were not suspended and will play in Game 3 of the series on Friday.

The Eastern Conference semifinal series is tied at a game apiece following the Heat's 115-78 win over Chicago on Wednesday.
