Car slams into Davie bookstore

No injuries reported

DAVIE, Fla. – Police are investigating after an SUV crashed into a popular bookstore in Davie.

The owner of the Second Edition Book Shop at 6831 Stirling Rd. said she was sitting nearby when the SUV came plowing through the front window into the reading area of the store.

"A bunch of customers had just left," said Danielle Whatley. "I had just sat down to catch my breath and saw the car pull in through the parking lot."

No customers were inside the store when the crash occurred and Whatley and the driver were not injured. The driver of the SUV was even able to pull out and drive away after speaking with police.
