"The impact sent the car into the Wendy's parking lot, hitting the building," Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll said in an e-mail.  "A guard rail prevented the car from causing major damage to the restaurant."

A rail prevented serious damage to the Wendy's restaurant building, 7801 Biscayne Boulevard, so they were open for business Saturday.

The 28-year-old unidentified woman driving the Hyundai suffered minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. Police are investigating the crash.
