Customers who use the PayByPhone app will no longer have to pay an extra $.35 for the use of the service in the city.

This move is a permanent one by the city.

The Miami Parking Authority is the only parking agency in the state that absorbs the extra fee.

Drivers will now be responsible only for the parking charge. In addition, Miami residents also receive a 20 percent discount when using PayByPhone.

"We have listened to our customers, and are pleased to cover the cost of the fee in order to offer some savings to the people who live, work, shop and play in the City of Miami, especially as we kick off the holiday season," said Arthur Noriega, CEO of the Miami Parking Authority.
