This past May, in a story about mortgage foreclosures, we told you about one man's experience renting a home in Fort Lauderdale from the home's owner, real estate agent Sheri Edewaard.
In that story, we reported the home she'd leased to him last year had been in foreclosure, and he’d received an eviction notice a few months after he’d moved in giving him 24 hours to leave the property.
We want to make clear that the home’s new owner, who'd bought it at auction, had given the man an extra thirty days to move out.
After our story aired the new owner accused the man of damaging the property, and the two are now in a legal dispute over the condition of the home when he left.
We regret any confusion our story may have caused.
