The Coast Guard hit Miami Beach on Monday to unload $19 million worth of cocaine seized off the coast of Costa Rica.
"This is a a big take down and continues to highlight the success of the Coast Guard and federal partners on the war on drugs," said Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Gabe Somma.
In late May, a Coast Guard cutter received a report of a go-fast boat about 300 miles southwest of Costa Rica. Crews onboard a helicopter and two boats tracked them down.
Federal authorities arrested six smuggling suspects.
"Were going to continue stop illegal drugs from coming into this country," said Somma.
The cocaine was turned over the Drug Enforcement Administration.
