Angelina Garcia, 31, was arrested on a charge of aggravated child abuse following the March 8 incident in which she took the hand of the boy and placed it on the stove as a form of punishment, according to the arrest report.

The child said that Garcia had warned him that she would burn his hand if he continued to play with the tablet.

"This act goes beyond the scope of corporal punishment," the report said.

The unnamed child was examined March 13 when a doctor concluded that child abuse had taken place after seeing burns inflicted on the boy's left forearm and three burn marks in the middle of his wrist.

Garcia was arrested Wednesday and jailed on $10,000 bond.
