Victims taken to Broward Health Coral Springs

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A mother and her young daughter drowned Sunday in a Coral Springs apartment complex pool, authorities said.

The incident was reported in the area of Shadowwood and Riverside Drive.

A photo taken at the scene shows police tape surrounding a pool inside the apartment complex.

Coral Springs police said the woman and a girl were found face down in the pool and they were unresponsive when they were pulled out.

Witnesses said good Samaritans performed CPR on the victims until  Coral Springs Fire Department paramedics arrived.

Both were taken to Broward Health Coral Springs.

The 31-year-old mother and her 5-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the hospital.

The mother was in street clothes and her daughter was in a bathing suit.

Police don't suspect foul play, but there's  still an active investigation. They were face down in the water for more than an hour before a neighbor noticed them.

There has been no positive identification of the two victims. The father and husband of victims was not at the scene but he's aware of what happened
