MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department crews are making repairs Thursday after a 12-inch water main break in Miami Gardens, officials said.
Commuters were encouraged to avoid the area near 8505 Northwest 186th St. because of the water main break.

Officials said the inner two eastbound lanes of Northwest 186th Street will be closed to accommodate the repair due to the pipe break. One eastbound lane was expected to remain open to accommodate traffic.
Repairs were expected to be completed within the next eight hours, at which time the lanes will be reopened, officials said.
