Woman shoots 12-year-old boy, 2 others near Miami park, police say

Boy shot in chest near Roberto Clemente Park during armed robbery

MIAMI ā€“ Police are investigating after three people, including a 12-year-old boy, were shot near a Miami park.

It happened Saturday night near Roberto Clemente Park, 101 NW 34th St., police said.

Miami police said the three victims were walking together past the park when a white or silver Chrysler slowed down.

A woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, got out and demanded their belongings at gunpoint. Police said the victims complied, but for reasons unknown, she still fired several shots.

The 12-year-old boy was shot in the chest, police said. A female victim was hit and a man was grazed.

Police said the three victims went running down the street before the boy collapsed.

All three victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police said one person was listed in critical condition.

Police are still searching for the shooter and driver.
