2 in custody, 1 sought after burglary ends in bailout in Miami Shores

Suspected burglar runs through Miami Shores church while trying to escape police

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Two people are in custody and police are searching for one more after a chase ended in a bailout in Miami Shores, authorities said.

The pursuit ended near St. Martha Catholic Church, on Biscayne Boulevard, just south of 96th Street.

Police from various departments, including the city of Miami, Miami-Dade and village of Miami Shores, responded to the scene.

"The police were pursuing at least one male, who apparently was last seen in our parking lot. Then the information came to us that he had run through the building but has exited the building. That is what I understand," Archdiocese of Miami spokeswoman Mary Ross Agosta said.

Authorities said the trio were involved in a burglary, but no other details were released about the crime.

Authorities had helicopters and K-9s assisting in the search for the suspects.

Anyone with information about the wanted burglar's whereabouts is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
