2 in custody after police chase ends in Sunrise

1 police vehicle struck during incident, authorities say

SUNRISE, Fla. – Two people were arrested Wednesday afternoon after a police chase ended in Sunrise, authorities said.

A Hollywood police representative said the chase started in Hollywood and ended in a crash at Sunset Strip and Northwest 19th Street in Sunrise.

Sky 10 was above the scene shortly before 3 p.m. and saw at least six vehicles that appeared to be involved in the crash.

Hollywood police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said undercover detectives were working a narcotics investigation when they were led on a pursuit.

"During that investigation they attempted to stop a vehicle. The vehicle fled, which resulted in this crash here in Sunrise," Grossman said. "At some point during that this afternoon, the suspects struck one of the police vehicles."

Grossman said the officer was not injured, however multiple people from the other vehicles were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The suspects' identities have not been released.
