2 shot, killed in Miami International Airport employee parking lot, police say

Incident believed to be murder-suicide

MIAMI – Two people were found shot to death Wednesday morning in a parking lot at Miami International Airport, police said.

Sky 10 flew over lot 3 at Northwest 45th Avenue and Northwest 13th Street, where two bodies were covered with tarps.

A witness told detectives that he heard people arguing just before 6 a.m. and then heard multiple gunshots.

Homicide detectives said the incident is believed to be a murder-suicide.

One of the victims is said to be a white man in his late 50s or early 60s. Police said he was shot multiple times, including in the chest.

The other body was identified as that of a white man in his late 40s. Police said he suffered a gunshot wound to the face, which appeared to be self-inflicted.

The identities of the two men have not been released, but police said they both worked at the airport.

The shooting did not affect flights at the airport, but the employee parking lot was shut down for about 45 minutes while detectives collected evidence.
