Ruby Jean Clay arrested after father of 4 dies at Broward Health North

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A father of four was killed Friday night in a stabbing in Pompano Beach.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Ruby Jean Clay in the stabbing death of Robert Maxwell.

BSO spokeswoman Joe Oglesby said in a statement that an argument "accelerated" into a stabbing at  2864 NE 12th Ave. She fled the scene, but deputies found her with the help of K9 deputies. 

Maxwell, 28, was taken to Broward Health North, where he later died.

Maxwell's relatives said the 19-year-old suspect, who is pregnant, had a contentious romantic relationship with Maxwell. 

Maxwell, who grew up in Pompano Beach, worked in construction and was a fan of Florida State University's football team. He had two sons and two daughters.
