3 thieves wanted in connection with jewelry store robbery in Hialeah

Thieves get away with $50,000 in jewelry, police say

HIALEAH, Fla. – Hialeah police are searching for three thieves who robbed a jewelry store over the weekend at gunpoint.

The armed robbery was reported at about 4:40 p.m. Saturday at Oseas Jewelry Store at 856 E. 41st St.

Police said a man, believed to be between 25 and 35, walked to the front door and was buzzed in by the owner.

Authorities said the man held open the door as two more men walked in, one of whom was armed with a gun.

The thief pointed the gun at the owner as one of the accomplices smashed the jewelry showcases with a mallet, authorities said.

Police said the man with the mallet filled a cardboard box with about $50,000 in jewelry and the three men left the store in a red, newer-model Dodge Journey SUV.

The owner was alone inside the store at the time and was not injured.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Hialeah police at 305-687-2525 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
